Area F rebuilding: permit-fee relief and temporary RV occupancy

RDOS approved a 50% reduction in building and demolition permit fees for eligible Area F properties that lost their principal home. Conditional temporary occupancy of up to two RVs is also available while rebuilding, for up to five years or until replacement-home occupancy, whichever comes first. Safety, wastewater and construction-permit requirements still apply. Confirm eligibility with RDOS; this is not a blanket rule for properties inside the District of Summerland.

Charities and nonprofit organizations supporting people affected by current BC wildfires can apply for United Way BC Response Grants of up to $15,000 or Recovery Grants of up to $25,000.
