Chefs for Farmers: fire-recovery fundraiser — sold out, waitlist available

18:00–20:30 · Poplar Grove Winery, Penticton

October 3, 6–8:30 pm at Poplar Grove Winery in Penticton. Supporting the Tumbach family of LocalMotive and the Callow family of What the Fungus after Bald Range wildfire losses. The organizer currently lists the event as SOLD OUT and offers a waitlist form on its website. Tickets were $160 including tax, with $50 per ticket donated to the two recipient families. The reception includes chef stations, wine pairings, live music and a fundraising auction. Businesses can still ask about donating prizes, experiences or gift certificates by contacting Chef Stacy Johnston at stacy.johnston@poplargrove.ca. Availability reviewed September 14, 2026.

Star’s Piggly Wiggly’s sanctuary open house

10:00–16:00 · 16808 Garnet Valley Road, Summerland

Donation-entry open house supporting the fire-affected animal sanctuary. Organizer’s poster lists October 17 and 18, 10 am–4 pm. This supports sanctuary recovery, not a general fund for total-loss households.
